Popularly known as Kumaar - a successful and active lyricist in Bollywood Cinema, Rakesh Kumar is originally from Jalandar, Punjab.


He has completed Bachelor in Arts from D.A.V. College, Jalandar. His father Mr. Dharampal along with his whole family supported him throughout his journey in the glamour world of Bollywood.


He has started his career in writing and recording songs in mumbai. He has given his first Big hit as Ishq Tera Tadpave (2000) from album of Sukhbir.


His work highly appreciated and he found real fame as a Best Lyricist for song “Maa ka ladla bigad gaya '' from DOSTANA. Although the number of hit songs he has written are innumerable but he is best known for creating the lyrics of Bollywood chartbuster songs Baby Doll, Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan, Sooraj Dooba hain, Lovely, Desi Look, Nachan Farrate, Main Hoon hero tera, Tujhe Bhula Diya (Anjaana Anjaani ) and many more.


He earn a numerous award in a lifetime, Recently he has been Nominated for Filmfare Awards for song Sooraj Dooba for film Roy.


As per his inherent nature of thriving for excellence constantly, he pushes his limits to outdo his own benchmarks.
